All our Trustees and volunteers are required to undertake safeguarding training relevant to their role and all are DBS checked. Our school workshop volunteers are all DBS checked to an enhanced level.

We also subscribe to the DBS update service so that others can easily check the status of our certificates online.

Our volunteers tend to be current or ex-healthcare professionals and have usually completed safeguarding training up to level 3. However, all are obligated to complete annual updates in their safeguarding training. Evidence of this is presented to schools on request and kept on a central record. (If volunteers have no previous healthcare experience we are happy to provide all the relevant safeguarding training required).

Given our work is focussed in the North Nottinghamshire area our training is carried out within the local Safeguarding Partnership. All Volunteers will have free access to this training and regular support is offered to all organisation members via our designated safeguarding and deputy designated safeguarding leads.

We also have a robust safeguarding policy which is reviewed annually.
